Harper and I stayed up past our bedtime to watch the lunar eclipse tonight. The moon was absolutely beautiful! Freezing cold (my toes are still thawing!) but the night is so clear and we had the perfect viewing spot right on our front porch! It was spectacular to watch and well worth the missed few hours of sleep. Who am I kidding, with a baby that still wakes every 2-3 hours, I’m not getting much sleep anyway.
These pictures don’t even remotely do this night justice. I waited until too late to get my camera set up and it was soooo cold that I didn’t fiddle too much with adjusting the settings to get the best or clearest shots.
Update: So I had to come back and add this post. I’ve been too tired for most of the week to edit any photos but yesterday I decided to try my hand at making a composite image of two of my moon photos.
I have a subsciption to the online photo editor PicMonkey. It’s very user friendly (much needed for my mom brain) so I went ahead and jumped in to play.
I took some artistic liberties with this of course, as any edited photos are indeed ART. The photo above is unedited, straight out of the camera. The photo below, is my composite. This was so fun to try and even though it isn’t perfect, it’s awesome to have a unique photo that is MINE.
Hope you enjoy my take on the Blood Moon Eclipse!
